Iran’s armed forces have carried out the 30th round of strikes against US and Israeli targets in the Middle East, deploying drones along with hypersonic and ballistic missiles, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Monday.
The IRGC stated that “Operation True Promise 4” achieved complete success, striking what it described as US bases in the region and locations in the northern occupied territories. The operation reportedly used Khorramshahr, Fattah, and Kheibar missiles, powered by both liquid and solid fuel, in addition to strategic drones.
The strikes coincided with the election of a new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, the IRGC said in a statement cited by the state broadcaster IRIB.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s National Communication Centre reported that a Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) facility in the village of Maameer caught fire following an Iranian strike. Authorities later clarified that the blaze caused no material damage, and firefighting teams quickly brought the situation under control.
The escalation follows US and Israeli strikes on February 28 targeting sites in Iran, including locations in Tehran. Those attacks reportedly caused damage and civilian casualties, including a strike that hit a girls’ school on the first day of the conflict. Iran subsequently retaliated by launching attacks on Israeli territory and US military bases across the Middle East.
