Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Saturday said that the social media thinks TikTok is “destroying civilization”.
Taking to Twitter, he said, “Is TikTok destroying civilization? Some people think so. Or perhaps social media in general.”
The billionaire tech executive held his first meeting on Thursday with Twitter workers, laying out various ways he wants to change and “improve” the app and its business operations, according to a recording of the meeting heard by Insider.
At the meeting, he told his Twitter employees to be more like TikTok and WeChat.
He said, “It does a great job of making sure you’re not bored. I mean, it does just feel like ADD. But like, next level. I do find some of their videos offensive, I think, but they’re not boring.”
He further said that TikTok has “honed the algorithm to be as engaging as possible.”
“TikTok is interesting, but you want to be informed about serious issues as well,” he added.
