Israel detects missile launches from Iran, interception underway: IDF

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said on Sunday that it had detected rocket launches from Iran and is working to intercept them.

“A short while ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” the army said on Telegram.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began striking targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties.

Iran has carried out retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military targets in the Middle East.

The US and Israel initially claimed their “preemptive” attack was necessary to counter the perceived threat coming from Iran’s nuclear program, but they soon made it clear that they want to see a change of power in Iran.
