The sleuths of Anti-Narcotics Task Force on Tuesday arrested two inter-state narco smugglers with contraband of opium here during special checking.
SSP J&K ANTF, Vinay Kumar said that on specific input, two Narco dealers were apprehended with a huge quantity of Hashish (opium) from a truck on way from Sopore, Kashmir towards Jammu.
He said that the ANTF team launched a search operation for the truck which was found parked near a transport yard at Narwal-Channi in Jammu.
Two Narco dealers identified as Ghulam Geelani Khan and Basharat Ahmad, both residents of Pehli-Pura, Baramulla were taken into custody with contraband of ‘Hashish’ weighing 26.580 kgs.
They were carrying it for a delivery outside J&K.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered and investigation started, said the SSP.
