The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday held a key strategy meeting at its headquarters in Trikuta Nagar here to plan an extensive political and public outreach programme ahead of the Union Budget 2026.
The meeting was chaired by BJP J&K President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, CA, and attended by senior party leaders, office bearers, morcha presidents and cell convenors. BJP Vice-Presidents Priya Sethi, Rakesh Mahajan and Rekha Mahajan, along with General Secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, were among those present.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union Government remains focused on inclusive growth, national progress and last-mile delivery of welfare schemes. He described the Union Budget as not merely a financial document but a key policy instrument reflecting the government’s commitment to development, good governance and social justice.
Sharma informed party leaders that the Union Budget will be presented on February 1, 2026, and urged all workers to closely follow the proceedings to understand its core announcements and policy direction. He stressed that ideological clarity and factual understanding are essential to counter misinformation and effectively communicate the Budget’s impact at the grassroots level.
He also announced that the BJP will organise “Budget Par Charcha” programmes across Jammu and Kashmir from February 2 to February 15, 2026.
Emphasising the role of party morchas and cells, Sharma said they must actively engage with workers, beneficiaries and the general public to ensure that welfare measures announced by the Centre translate into tangible benefits on the ground. He directed media and social media teams to launch a sustained outreach campaign to highlight the Budget’s pro-people and pro-development focus.
Sharma further underlined the importance of extensive ground-level interactions and called for the formation of district- and mandal-level committees to systematically plan and execute Budget-related outreach programmes within a fixed timeline, ensuring disciplined implementation and maximum public participation.(KINS)
