J&K: Police arrest interstate narco smugglers in Udhampur

Police on Tuesday arrested two interstate narco smugglers with a contraband of poppy straw in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesman said that a team from Police Station Chenani led by its Station House Officer, Jaswinder Singh, while performing vehicle checking at the Motorshed naka point, stopped one truck.

During checking, 20-kg of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of the driver, namely Gurmej Singh, and his associate Palwinder Singh, both residents of Amritsar, and were arrested on the spot.

A case under sections was registered, and an investigation started.
