J&K Police arrest three drug peddlers

Srinagar, April 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers in Anantnag district and recovered contraband substances in their possession.
A police party of Bijbehara at a checkpoint established at Uranhall Bijbehara in south Kashmir district of Anantnag intercepted three persons, identified as Fayaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Subhanpora Qaimoh; Mohd Asif Bhat and Sajad Ahmad Dar, both the residents of Batengoo Anantnag.
On checking, 05 grams of Brown Sugar (chitta) was recovered from their possession. Besides, a cash amount of Rs 25000 believed to be the proceeds of narcotic crime & a weighing machine was also recovered from them.
They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station against them and further investigation has been initiated, the police added.
