J&K Police attaches property of drug peddlers in Rajouri

In a major action against drug peddling and to tighten the noose against those involved in the unlawful act, Jammu and Kashmir police have seized and attached property worth crores of rupees in Rajouri town.

The police spokesman here on Saturday said that the property is linked in an NDPS case registered in police station Rajouri.


Police added that the property is related to the accused namely Vikal Chogga, a resident of Ward 12 Rajouri. He is booked under relevant sections.

The property comprising a multi-storey business establishment in the heart of the Rajouri city is valued at around Rs 1 crore and 74 lakhs.


‘The attached property is four stories and is situated in the heart of the city,” he said adding that the accused had raised this empire from the money he accumulated by selling drugs to the local youths.

The action of attachment and seizure of property was made by a police team headed by Additional SP Rajouri Musadiq Basu along with Deputy SP Headquarter Ashwani Sharma, Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani, PSI Sahil Choudhary along with Executive Magistrate Sham Lal.

SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh (IPS) said the Rajouri Police reiterates it’s commitment towards eradication of drugs peddling menace from society and tighten noose against those involved in it.

More similar action in times to come is expected, he said.

SSP Rajouri said there is a zero-tolerance policy of J&K Police against drug peddlers and it is evident from massive action taken in the Rajouri district in the past.
