J&K Police seizes 07 vehicles involved in illegal transportation of mineral in Handwara

In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, J&K Police have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Handwara and has seized 07 vehicles (02 tippers, 05 Tractors) involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.

Police teams of Police Post Langate and Police Station Kralgund headed by supervisory officers seized 07 vehicles (02 tippers, 05 Tractors) bearing registration numbers JK09D-2685, JK09C-7748, JK05L-6813, JK09-1518, Jk03B-4681, Ch No.15893, Ch. No. 937S3 involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals. Subsequently, proceedings under the provisions of the (MMDR Act) have been initiated, and further investigation is in progress.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mining activities in their neighbourhood. J&K Police assures strict action against the violators as per law.(JKNS)
