J&K private schools flayed

Jammu, April 20 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Sarv Shakti Sena on Wednesday hit out at the steep hike in fees by by private schools across the Union Territory.

Sena President Rajan Gupta told reporters that students were being forced to buy stationary and other items from select shops where prices were high.

“Private schools are looting thousands of rupees from students by selling notebooks and study materials at exorbitant prices. The school managements are forcing parents to buy books and uniforms from recommended shops. Many parents have complained but nothing concrete is being done,” he added.

Gupta said that despite the government orders, the school managements were enhancing fees.
