The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) delegation on Friday met the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Banihal and the Tehsildar Banihal to highlight the pressing issues faced by students of Banihal, Khari, Ramsu, and adjoining areas.
The delegation, led by Mubashir Ahmed Naik (Coordinator, Ramban District), along with members Mohsin Rafiq Wani, Amir Saleem, Imran Shakeel, Firdous Malik, Sajad Farooq, and Imran Ahmed Lone, submitted a memorandum outlining several concerns related to the education sector in the region.
The memorandum emphasized the urgent need for improved road connectivity and reliable transport facilities for students who travel long distances daily. It further called for the upgradation of government schools, recruitment of adequate teaching staff, establishment of career counseling centres, and introduction of skill-development programmes to empower local youth and enable them to compete with their peers in other districts.
The SDM and Tehsildar gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that these concerns would be taken up with higher authorities for timely redressal.
The Association expressed confidence that prompt intervention by the administration will ensure that students of Banihal and its adjoining areas are not deprived of educational opportunities and can pursue their studies in a conducive learning environment.(JKNS)
