Two women officers from Jammu and Kashmir Police — DySP Nadiya Farooq and DySP Farhana Farooq — made the Union Territory proud by joining the J&K Police Band contingent at the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade held at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat on Saturday.

News agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) reported that the J&K Police band presented impressive patriotic tunes along with bands from various Central Armed Police Forces, States, and Union Territories, earning praise for their discipline and performance.

DySP Nadiya Farooq, a 2023-batch officer, and DySP Farhana Farooq, from the 2024 batch, represented the growing strength and leadership of women in the J&K Police.

“Their presence at the national event highlighted the force’s commitment to encouraging women officers and promoting equality in service”, a senior police officer said.

Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, also joined the contingent and appreciated the officers for their dedication and hard work. (KINS)
