Srinagar: Kashmiris living across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-administered region will rally against PM Modi’s visit to Srinagar on Saturday, a media report said today.

The rally being organized on the call of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders will begin at the press club and end at Domel in Muzaffarabad, capital city of the region, Dawn reported.

It said the participants will express their solidarity with people of Jammu and Kashmir and express their anger “over the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Srinagar.”

Notably, police in Jammu and Kashmir have detained more than 200 Hurriyat leaders and activists besides former militants to prevent ‘Srinagar million march’ called by Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani to counter Modi’s rally.

Top separatist leaders, including Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, have been placed under house arrest while JKLF chief Yasin Malik besides Shabir Shah and Nayeem Khan are lodged in various police stations to thwart the march.

A multi-tier security is in place in and around the venue of the rally – Sher-e-Kashmir park – in Srinagar.

Roads around the venue have been sealed and closed for pedestrians and motorists.
