Ten soldiers lost their lives after an Army bus plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district. The tragic accident occurred on Thursday when the vehicle fell into the gorge.
Several other soldiers were also injured in the incident. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed deep sorrow over the supreme sacrifice of the soldiers.
Reacting to the horrific vehicle accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, Kharge wrote on social media, “Deeply anguished by the incident in which several Army personnel were martyred and many others injured.”
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and relatives.
He said, “The entire nation stands united in this moment of profound grief and our prayers and sympathies are with the injured for their speedy recovery.”
Raising concerns over road safety measures, Kharge said that several such incidents have occurred in the past as well. He stressed that strengthening road infrastructure, improving connectivity in difficult terrains, and strictly implementing road safety measures are extremely necessary to prevent such tragic accidents.
