Maha polls: Cong declares 23 candidates in second list

The Congress on Saturday announced the second list of 23 candidates for the November 20 Maharashtra assembly election.

The names were selected in a meeting of the party’s central election committee, chaired by president Mallikarjun Kharge, a statement by Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said.

The candidates are Rajesh Tukaram Manvatkar from Bhusawal, Swati Sandip Wakekar from Jalgaon, Mahesh Gangane from Akot, Shekhar Pramodbabu Shende from Wardha, Anuja Sunil Kedar from Savner, Girish Krushnarao Pandav from Nagpur South, Suresh Yadavrao Bhoyar from Kamthi, Puja Ganesh Thavkar from Bhandara, Dalip Waman Bansod from Arjuni Morgaon, Rajkumar Lotuji Puram from Amgaon, Vasant Chinduji Purke from Ralegaon, Anil @ Balasaheb Shankarrao Mangulkar from Yavatmal, Jitendra Shivajirao Moghe from Arni, Sahebrao Dattrao Kamble from Umarkhed, Kalias Kishanrao Gortantyal from Jalna, Madhukar Krishnarao Deshmukh from Aurangabad East, Vijay Govind Patil from Vasai, Kalu Badheliya from Kandivali East, Yashwant Jayprakash Singh from Charkop, Ganesk Kumar Yadav from Sion Koliwada, Hemant Ogale from Shrirampur, Abhaykumar Satishrao Salunkhe from Nilanga and Ganpatrao Appasaheb Patil from Shirol assembly constituency.

On Thursday, the grand old party had released its first list of 48 candidates.

With today’s list the party has so far declared names of 71 candidates.
