The Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday announced that Shilpak Ambule, Joint Secretary heading the East Asia Division, will take over as the next envoy to Singapore, while Vipul, Joint Secretary handling the Gulf Division, will take over as next Ambassador to Qatar.
According to the media statements:
Shilpak N. Ambule (IFS: 2002) presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Singapore.
Vipul (IFS: 1998) presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar.
Both are expected to take up their assignments shortly.
Shilpak Ambule is proficient in the Chinese language. He succeeds Indian High Commissioner P Kumaran. According to reports, Kumaran will return to South Block as a Secretary.
Vipul succeeds Deepak Mittal as ambassador to Qatar. Mittal is reported to take over as joint secretary in the PMO.
