The Meteorological Department has forecast generally cloudy weather with a spell of light to moderate rain and light snowfall over higher reaches in many parts of Kashmir and at scattered places in Jammu division tomorrow night.
An advisory issued by the MeT department said there is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph at a few places in the Kashmir Valley towards the evening of November 4.
“Generally cloudy with possibility of a spell of light to moderate Rain/Light snow(higher reaches) at many places of Kashmir Division & scattered places of Jammu division during 4th evening/night to 5th early morning/morning hrs,” Met said.
The department has also predicted a significant drop in day and night temperatures across many places from November 5 onwards. Farmers have been advised to suspend all farm operations on November 4 as a precautionary measure against adverse weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the MeT said the minimum night temperatures remained above normal across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir. In the Kashmir division, temperatures were 0–3°C above normal, while in the Jammu division, they were 0–1°C above normal.
The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Pahalgam at -0.6°C in the Kashmir division and Banihal at 5.5°C in the Jammu division, the MeT said.
