Modi calls up Sharif, offers Assistance After Quake

New Delhi: Breaking ice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif after a massive quake hit the Hindu Kush region, claiming scores of lives in Pakistan and Afghanistan and leaving a large number of people injured.

In his first direct communication with Mr Sharif after their meeting in Ufa, Mr Modi expressed his condolences to him over the tragic loss of lives in the quake, and also offered all assistance.
