Modi Govt moves towards developed India through participation of poor: BJP leader

Maharashtra BJP leader Praveen Darekar on Wednesday highlighted achievements of the Narendra Modi government in last 10 years, saying that it has taken a determined step towards realising the vision of a developed India through various government schemes for inclusive development of crores of poor and underprivileged people.


Addressing a press conference at Mumbai BJP office, he said that by stopping corruption in distribution of funds of government schemes, the benefits of the schemes are reaching 100 per cent to poor and needy classes, as a result, about 25 crore Indians have come above the poverty line, he claimed.


He also said that the country’s economy has become the fifth largest in the world today due to the changes in economic policy and implementation of economic reforms.


While comparing administration of the UPA government with the NDA government, the BJP leader highlighted the changes that have taken place in the country today, he said that in the year 2014, under Direct Benefit Transfer scheme, direct deposit of subsidy received from the government on LPG gas cylinders was stopped whereas under the Modi government, poor families could save up to Rs 73,000 crore due to DBT till 2022.


Similarly, in 2014, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, only 55 per cent of the villages were
connected by roads, on the contrary, 99 per cent of villages were connected by roads by 2023, he informed.


In 2014, there were only 80 medical centres in the country providing medicines at modest rates, while today there are 10,000 centres, he said.


In 2014, there was an average of 12.30 hours of electricity supply in rural areas, which has improved to 22.5 hours today, he informed.


Darekar said that since development of the country is the goal of Modi government, the development works were carried out in the same direction.


That is why the country is on the path of becoming a developed, self-reliant India, he pointed.


The Modi government has resolved to extend benefits of the government schemes to those who are deprived of them in next five years, he added.
