Patna, June 2 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take seriously the incidents happening in Jammu and Kashmir instead of misusing ED.
Referring to the recent incidents, Sahay said on Thursday that a 36-year-old teacher was shot dead by suspected militants when she was about to enter the school where she taught in J&K’s Kulgam district on last Thursday morning. The incident was witnessed by several students who had gathered outside their classroom for prayer.
He said that execution of Rajni Bala is the fourth such militant attack in J&K this month after a Kashmiri Pandit government employee, a TV artist, and a wine-staffer were gunned down by suspected militants in separate cases.
The Congress leader said that the recent assassination has rekindled demonstrations by Kashmiri Hindus, who have set up roadblocks in several sections of the valley.
The former Union Minister alleged that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was at the forefront of taking credit for the film made on the Kashmir conflict, but he did not make any statement on the murder of Rajni Bala, revealing the government’s weakness.
He said that the union government should take a definite stand to provide security to Kashmiri Pandits so that they can take up their daily routine without fear of being attacked.
Sahay said that the Central government claimed that peace had returned to Kashmir, which was
also disseminated through its special media allies, despite the fact that the situation in Kashmir
had altered dramatically and the effects were absolutely contrary.
Sahai called the attack on the teacher “despicable” and asked the government to take concrete
steps to protect the lives of innocent citizens.
