Srinagar: National Conference on Monday constituted a 5-member Committee to supervise the party reorganization in Kargil. NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar and NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani held a detailed meeting with party leaders and functionaries from Kargil at NC Headquarters at Nawa-e-Subha Complex in Srinagar to take stock of the party’s reorganization and membership expansion in Kargil.
Party leaders Qamar Ali Akhoon, Feroz Khan, Aga Syed Ahmad Rizvi, District Vice President Ghulam Rasool Nagvi and District Secretary Zakir Hussain were nominated to the 5-member committee that will supervise the reorganization and consolidation of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said that National Conference was the only political force that bound all three regions of the State together and the history of the State was replete with examples of peaceful co-existence, cooperation and mutual respect. “National Conference shares a historic bond with all three regions of the State and the party has played a pivotal role in the development of Kargil and would continue to treat every region of the State at par without any bias or sense of discrimination. Today we have constituted a vital 5-member committee to supervise party reorganization in Kargil and the process is slated to be completed by December. We are positive of a strong consolidation in our favour there in the coming times”, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said in a statement issued from NC Headquarters in Srinagar.
Addressing party leaders and functionaries, NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani lashed out at divisive political forces for sowing seeds of animosity and confrontation between the three regions of the State and said National Conference would continue to fight against such communal forces and would defeat their sinister plans. “The integrity of the State is of utmost importance to us and we will not allow anyone to fiddle with the State’s integrity for their petty political gains. We will continue to serve people in all three regions of the State with equal emphasis and dedication and this new beginning in Kargil today comes after a very positive new chapter was scripted in Leh earlier last month”, the NC Provincial President said.
The newly constituted committee vowed to make the reorganization efforts successful and expressed confidence in the party leadership’s efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. (KNS)
