Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has convened a two-day meeting of the party’s Working Committee in Srinagar starting tomorrow.
The party said the meeting will begin at 11 am and will continue over two days.
“During the session, members of the Working Committee will hold comprehensive deliberations on key party affairs, public issues, ongoing political activities, and other matters of organisational importance,” a party statement said.
According to the party general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, the deliberations are aimed at strengthening the party’s outreach, reviewing current developments, and charting the future course of action.
This is the first working committee meeting of the party that is being held after the recent results of two by-poll seats in J&K which the party lost. The NC faced a humiliating defeat at its bastion of Budgam . The party lost Budgam as its influential Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah, didn’t campaign for his party candidate despite representing Budgam Assembly seats thrice in the past.
After the bypoll results Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had said that he would speak to party president Farooq Abdullah and request a meeting of the NC Working Committee in the coming days to review the outcome and plan the way forward.
