NC leader Ruhullah vows to raise the issue of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in outside jails

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Member of Parliament from Srinagar Aga Ruhullah on Saturday vowed to raise the issue of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in outside jails in Parliament.

He was addressing a congratulatory meeting of the party functionaries at the party’s district headquarters in Pulwama.

He requested party leaders to provide a list of individuals who have been imprisoned & promised to raise the issue of these prisoners ,vowing to fight for their release.

“I will raise the issue of prisoners both inside and outside the Parliament. The district President Pulwama and his associates should prepare a list of such youth hailing from Pulwama, who are languishing in jails and share it with me. I will spare no efforts to raise the issue of their issue at every forum, with every ministry, and at every gathering,” he said.

Expressing gratitude to the party functionaries on his win, Ruhullah thanked the people of Srinagar, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Shopian and Budgam for this mandate and faith in me.

” I am humbled and I am aware of the responsibility that this mandate brings with it. From here on it is my responsibility to take your voice to the Parliament. Rest assured, I will represent your sentiments and struggle for the return of our dignity and rights with complete sincerity,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ruhullah and another Member of the Parliament of the party Mian Altaf Ahmad have implored the Central and State administration to show sensitivity towards the issues of the students.

They have specifically urged the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairperson M. Jagadesh Kumar and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to reschedule the UGC NET exam date, currently set for June 18, 2024, as it coincides with the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, an important Islamic festival observed nationwide on June 17th and 18th, 2024.

A party statement said they have all requested the rescheduling of the IGNOU exams and the Supervisor SW exams conducted by SSB, which are both set for June 23.
