Srinagar, July 13 (UNI) National Investigation Agency on Wednesday conducted searches at multiple locations in Kashmir during the probe of an attack on a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) vehicle at Sunjuwan Jammu in April, officials said.
The NIA conducted searches at three locations in Kashmir- one in Pulwama and two in Anantnag districts, the spokesperson of the agency said.
“The searches today led to recovery and seizure of different type of incriminating materials,” spokesperson said, adding, “further investigations in the case are in progress.”
In May, NIA had claimed to have arrested a key accused from Pulwama in the Sunjuwan attack case.
In the early hours of April 22, the security personnel during a joint search operation in the Sunjwan, were fired upon by unknown militants in which a CISF officer was killed and several others were injured. The forces retaliated to the attack and killed the two militants on the spot.
The case was initially registered in police station Bahu Fort, Jammu and it was re-registered by NIA on April 26. The NIA took over the investigations of the case following a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
