Nine people, including four teens ,died in lightning strike in B’desh

Nine people, including four teenagers, were killed in lightning strikes at Mymensingh, Jamalpur and Sirajganj in Bangladesh. Among them 6 died in Mymensingh, 2 in Sirajganj and 1 in Sarishabari of Jamalpur.
Nandail Police Station (OC) Mizanur Rahman said three teenagers were struck by lightning while playing football at Kankarhati village in Gangail union of the upazila around 1pm on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Abu Saeed, 14, son of Shahidullah of Kankarhati village, Shaon Mia, 13, son of Hadis Mia and Swadhin, 14, son of Billal Hossain. He said the bodies were handed over to their families without an autopsy.
Meanwhile, Bakkar Hossain, 40, son of Hassan Ali Mandal and Jahangir Alam, 30, son of Pocha Mia died while fishing in the Brahmaputra river at Dori Kushtia village in Mymensingh Sadar upazila, Kotwali police said. Besides, a young man named Abu Saeed (30) of Charmuhini village of Dhobaura upazila also died in a lightning strike while fishing.
Two workers were killed in separate lightning strikes in Sirajganj. One person was killed and two others were injured in a lightning strike while traveling by boat from Sirajganj town to Kawakola on Friday afternoon. In addition, while working on the ongoing rail bridge project in Sayedabad Union. A railway worker named Nasir (18) was killed.
A teenager named Shakil Mia was killed in a lightning strike at Sarishabari in Jamalpur while fishing in the bill.
