'No hurry' to reach agreement with Iran: Donald Trump; says Netanyahu will do 'whatever I want him to do' concerning Tehran

US President Donald Trump said that he is in “no hurry” to reach an agreement with Iran any time soon, stating that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will do “whatever I want him to do” with regards to conducting another potential strike on the Islamic Republic.

While speaking to reporters, when asked about what he said recently to Netanyahu regarding a potential attack on Iran, Trump replied, “He’s fine, he’ll do whatever I want him to do.”

“He’s a very good man, he’ll do whatever I want him to do. And he’s a great guy… Don’t forget he was a wartime prime minister,” Trump said, reports Times Of Israel.

When asked if he was open to a limited Iran deal that would only open the Strait of Hormuz and extend the ceasefire, Trump merely said that he was in no hurry to reach an agreement, stating “We’d have to open the strait that would open immediately, so we’re gonna give this one shot. I’m in no hurry. Everyone is saying, ‘Oh, the midterms.’ I’m in no hurry… Ideally, I’d like to see few people killed, as opposed to a lot.”

Trump has given vague, and often shifting timelines for reaching a diplomatic solution with Iran, saying Tuesday that he could wait “two or three days” or for “a limited period of time,” after announcing this week that he cancelled a planned strike against Iran at the last moment due to requests by Gulf states to give diplomacy another shot.

Though, he has not been clear on any timeline, Trump has warned Iran to hurry up, ominously claiming that for Tehran, “the clock is ticking” and it did not have much time if it still wanted to resolve things peacefully.

For its part, Tehran has refused to yield to Washington’s pressure tactics and warned that any potential renewal of strikes would result in an extension of the war “beyond the region.”
