PDP Meeting Ends, No Pronouncement On Govt Creation

Another meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ended at the party president Mehbooba Mufti’s Fairview residence however nothing was decided about the formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir, reports said on Sunday.

“This meeting was about organizational matters and nothing else. We discussed on how to take forward Mufti Sahab’s agenda for peace and development,” PDP leader and spokesman Naeem Akhtar told reporters after the meeting.

He said that keeping in view the present situation the matter of government formation was also discussed for some time. “Once Mehbooba Ji is convinced that Agenda of Alliance is being reciprocated in letter and spirit by New Delhi she will definitely take a decision in this regard,” Akhtar told reporters.  

However, he did not indulge into the details.

Almost three weeks after the demise of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is yet to decide over the government formation and alliance with BJP in the state.

If reports are to be believed, the PDP president is unlikely to stake claim to power in the state. (Agencies)
