Under PDP-BJP Govt. J&K bound to touch new scales of success: Dar

Srinagar: Terming ‘Ladli Beti’, an incentive scheme for the girl child as a historic beginning for women empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party’s zone committee Amirakadal has hailed the efforts of the state government for taking pro people initiatives for augmenting socio-economic progress index in the state.

In a statement to KNS, Mohammad Ashraf Dar, zonal president Amirakadal said that extension of ‘Ladli Beti’ scheme to Srinagar that was initially launched in six districts of the state earlier this month has given much needed sigh of relief to the people as the same is aimed to reverse the declining child sex ratio that had plunged below the national average of 943.

He hailed the government’s decision to extend the scheme to Srinagar saying that such measures will prove fruitful and result-oriented for Srinagar wherein people were craving for such schemes.

Dar said there was a dire need to provide girls an economic security and access to quality education and jobs so that they become equal partners in progress and development of the state.  He said Ladli scheme will provide girls a level-playing field as they have the ability to match boys in every sphere of life.

Referring to the other scheme AASRA, Dar said that the same being a social assistance scheme aimed at insuring low-income group families having annual income less than Rs.75000 will prove beneficial to the down trodden sections of the society. He said the scheme envisages that in case of the death of the bread earner, widows and destitute, Rs. 2 lakh will be provided while Rs. 1 lakh will be provided in case of disability due to injury. “This scheme is bound to mitigate sufferings of low income families who have lost their bread earners,” he added.  

Dar hailed the efforts of chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led PDP-BJP government for ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity in the state. He said that the under the proficient leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the state will touch new scales of success in coming years. (KNS)
