PM Modi speaks with Saudi Crown Prince, discusses boosting ties in energy, trade, defence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and discussed enhancing ties in connectivity, energy, defence, trade and investment.

The PM in a tweet said the two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues.

PM also appreciated Riyadh’s help in the safe evacuation of Indians from Sudan as part of Operation Kaveri and for Haj.

“Spoke to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince & PM HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Discussed boosting ties in connectivity, energy, defense, trade & investment, and exchanged views on regional and global issues. Appreciated his support in safe evacuation of Indians from Sudan and for Haj,” he posted.

A statement said that the two leaders reviewed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on various multilateral and global issues of mutual interest.

“PM thanked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for Saudi Arabia’s excellent support during evacuation of Indian nationals from Sudan via Jeddah in April 2023. He also conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming Haj pilgrimage.

“Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed his full support to India’s initiatives as part of its ongoing G20 Presidency and that he looks forward to his visit to India.

“The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.”
