Srinagar: After imposing strict restrictions in place, the Jammu and Kashmir police Saturday foiled the Muharram procession.

The procession was foiled after police detained scores of activist of Huriyat (G) besides Shia mourners after they attempted to proceed towards Lal chowk.

The defying mourners were lodged in Kothi Bagh police station. Severe restrictions are in place across five police stations of summer capital as police fear the law and order problem on eve of 10 Muharram.
