Continuing its crackdown on the narcotics network, Police in Anantnag on Tuesday conducted a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at the residence of a known narco offender in Tulkhan area of Bijbehara and unearthed a concealed underground hide-like structure allegedly used for storing contraband substances.

According to police, the operation was carried out at the residence of Rayees Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, a resident of Tulkhan, Bijbehara.

Police said the accused is involved in FIR No. 50/2021 registered under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bijbehara, in which 2,600 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were earlier recovered.

Officials said the accused’s residential house, valued at around ₹1.06 crore, had already been attached on April 15, 2026 under provisions of the NDPS Act.

During the search operation, police discovered a concealed underground hide beneath a cemented pathway inside the premises, which is suspected to have been used for concealing narcotic substances.
