Srinagar: Days after RSS displayed their power on the streets of Hindu majority Jammu region; the Huriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani said that preparations are in full swing by the Hindu fanatics in state to repeat the bloodshed of 1947.
He, however, accused Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for allowing the Hindu right wing party to display their might over the minority community in region and said that his aprty is keenly watching the prevailing situation in state.
“We stand by the Muslim community of Jammu region where the preparations are going to repeat the catastrophe of 1947 in which huge number of Muslims were massacred,” he said in a statement issued here. “The minority community is reeling under perpetual danger and insecurity across India and in state ever since Sangh parivar came into power. They will not be allowed to change the demography of this only Muslim majority state”.
He expressed deep anguish and concern over the recent march by RSS people along with weapons and swords on Jammu streets that triggered insecurity and apprehensions among the minority community.
Geelani said Mufti Mohammad Sayed for his political clout handed over the reins of state to the ‘mindless’ Sangh Parivar based in Nagpur.
“We are closely monitoring the situations prevailing in the state. Our concerns about the Jammu division is not based on any hypothetical theory but the kind of aggressiveness which the people from Sangh Parivar are showing against the Muslims, Christens, Sikhs and Dalits in India,” he said, adding that prevailing communal situation and growing intolerance have attracted the attention of whole world.
He said that Kashmiri people never accepted the forced military occupation and India in retaliation is working on a plan to change the demographic character of this Muslim majority state.
“To attain this objective the Hindu fanatics massacred lakhs of innocent Muslims in Jammu region in 1947 and for same purpose they can go to any extent even today.”
Geelani said the state government mortgaged the interests and pride of state to New Delhi to retain power. He also lashed out on people supporting Mufti and said: “It is unfortunate some people despite knowing the intentions of Mufti still stand by him.”
