As monsoon rain wreak havoc in Balochistan, the government on Wednesday declared Quetta a disaster struck area and also imposed a state of emergency.

According to Geo News, 13 people were killed and over 20 injured when the walls and roofs of dozens of houses collapsed due to flashfloods.

Balochistan Disaster Management Authority has stated that Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Pishin and Harnai districts have been the most affected regions due to rain while Muslim Bagh, Qamaruddin, and Khushnoob remained affected by flood.

There were flash floods overnight in several villages of Khushnoob, and a link bridge was swept away, making it difficult for rescue workers to reach the affected people, Geo News reported.

The ward and emergency room of Muslim Bagh Civil Hospital were also flooded.
