Apni Party, led by Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday urged the centre to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and hold assembly elections.
Bukhari was presiding over a meeting at party headquarters in Srinagar on Wednesday, demanding to hold assembly, panchayat, and urban local bodies (ULB) elections without any further delay in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting also demanded the Centre restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible,” the press note reads.
Bukhari said, “Since the parliamentary elections are around the corner and the assembly elections too are expected to be held soon, we must keep in touch with the people to make them well aware of the unambiguous agenda and policies of the party.”.
He said people must be aware that the Apni Party is dedicated to serving them and has the will and potential to change the scenario in Jammu and Kashmir for the better.
“It is your responsibility to make people aware that the Apni Party is dedicated to striving for permanent peace, enduring prosperity, and equivalent development across Jammu and Kashmir,” Bukhari told party leaders and workers during the meeting.
