PDP Leader Bashir Runiyal Resigns From Party

Srinagar: From almost all the corners of Jammu and Kashmir, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continue to witness dissidence as one more leader from Banihal has resigned from the basic membership of the party.

Notably, over ten party leaders have so far resigned from the basic membership of the party while as several others are in touch to form new party in the shape of third front, which would likely be named as ‘Real PDP’.

A PDP leader from Banihal and former IAS Officer, Bashir Runiyal has resigned from the basic membership of party. Runiyal fought the previous assembly elections on PDP’s ticket but was defeated by Congress candidate Vikar Rasool Wani.

While confirming his resignation from the party to KNO, said that he has resigned from the party as his constituency was ignored in the previous BJP-BJP bonhomie. Runiyal a former Chief Secretary fought elections in 2014 on PDP’s ticket and secured 13322 votes against his nearest rival Vikar Rasool Wani.(KNO)
