Ryots, jobless people & inflation being ignored: Rahul

Erstwhile Congress President Rahul Gandhi alleged on Monday that issues such as cultivators, the unemployed and high prices were not finding a place in media despite being the biggest contemporary matters.

The visiting leader’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra reached this district’s Biaora where he addressed a public meeting from an open vehicle. Among those present were the party’s Madhya Pradesh unit head Jitu Patwari and former state minister Jaivardhan Singh.

“The Modi dispensation is paying scant heed to the peasants’ agitation. Media organisations have been captured by select industrialists and that is the reason why public-related issues are neglected. Instead, a tycoon family’s wedding is being telecast. If my party is given an opportunity to constitute a government at the Centre then work will be accomplished on core issues,” Gandhi said.

Reiterating the requirement of a caste census, he assured that a Congress dispensation would ensure the same.

“Justice will be meted out to the Other Backward Classes. The factual position shall be revealed regarding those perpetrating irregularities in the country,” Gandhi added.
