The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned till August 5 the hearing on the bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia as the Enforcement Directorate sought more time to file a response in excise policy money laundering case.
A division bench comprising Justice B R Gavai and Justice K V Viswanathan after hearing ED’s plea granted time to the probe agency to file a reply till August 1.
Meanwhile, The Central Bureau of Investigation informed the Supreme Court that it had filed its reply in response to Sisodia’s bail application.
Sisodia sought bail contending that he has been in custody for 16 months and the trial against him has not made any progress since October last year.
The apex court had on July 16 agreed to hear the pleas and sought responses from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
