Srinagar: The bus stands available in the Valley are of no use as these stands are no longer being used by the passengers as well as the public transporters while as the concerned officials are acting as mute spectator with taking no action in this regard.

According to the wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), commuters said that many bus stands have been made available by the concerned department in the Valley, but nobody at present the people don’t use these stands, therefore making them useless.

They said that the stray dogs could be seen sitting in the stands while as no passenger could be seen waiting for bus there. “This all takes place as the public transporters pick and drop their passengers as per their will. The rules should be followed in letter and spirit and these stands should be used properly,” commuters said.

The commuters further added that the concerned officials must act tough against the transporters and should ask them to follow the rules in letter and spirit so that these stands could be used properly.

They said that although the traffic department has done a tremendous job by not allowing any commuter to park their vehicle on the roadsides, but at the same time, the official should look these issues also so that the traffic could be streamlined further. However, no official could be contacted to have comments in this regard.
