Amidst ongoing political turmoil in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena workers from Osmanabad on Saturday held a protest here in front of office of rebel Sena MLA Tanaji Sawant, who has joined the Eknath Shinde camp in Guwahati of Assam.
A group of Sena workers, led by Osmanabad Sena MP Omprakash Nimbalkar and Sena local MLA Kailash Patil, gathered in front of Sawant’s office and held protest agitation against him for joining the rebel camp.
They expressed their love and affection for late Sena founder Bal Thackeray and raised a number of slogans against him and another Sena MLA Dnyanraj Chougule, who is also in rebel camp. Sawant hails from Paranda assembly constituency and Chougule from Omerga constituency of the district.
“Despite being given the post of minister in previous state ministry, Sawant has become a ‘gaddar’ (traitor) which will not be tolerated by Shiv Sainiks,” they asserted and warned that they will not allow him to come to his constituency.
Meanwhile, a report from Nanded said that a similar protest was held there, where irate Shiv Sena actvists, led by Bhujang Patil, stormed into office of Sena MLA from Nanded North assembly constituency Balaji Kalyankar, who is also in the rebel camp.
They also held a demonstration in front of his residence in Nanded and raised slogans against him.
They also took out a mock funeral procession of MLA Kalyankar.
However, police detained the Sena workers.
Meanwhile, BJP MP from Nanded Pratap Patil-Chiklikar has openly declared support to Kalyankar and added that the Sena cannot touch him.
