Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir won the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) annual debate competition held at the University of Kashmir.
Mehak Fayaz from Kashmir University’s English Department bagged the first prize in the competition, a SKUAST statement said.
SKUAST-K students, Saira Jabeen and Numaira bagged the second and third prize respectively in the IIPA -2022 in the competition in which more than 60 students from various universities and colleges of Kashmir participated who speak for and against the motion on the topic, “Keyboard learning is not an alternative to formal education”.
The debate was organised jointly by Kashmir University’s Department of Students Welfare and the J&K Regional Branch of the IIPA.
SKUAST-K Vice Chancellor Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai congratulated the students for bringing laurels to the university.
Vice Chancellor, KU, Prof Nilofer Khan, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed the prizes among the winners.
Dr G N Qasba, Vice Chairman IIPA J&K Regional Branch and A M Watali, former Vice Chairman IIPA J&K Regional Branch were also present at the occasion.
Ajaz ul Haque, Dr Mufti Mudasir and Bashir Ahmad adjudged the debaters.
