Maharashtra Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal has rejected a no-confidence motion against the government of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray tabled by rebel Shiv Sena legislator Eknath Shinde and his group.
According to sources in Zirwal’s office, disqualification notices have been sent to 16 rebel Sena MLAs, asking them to be present in Mumbai for a hearing.
Meanwhile, both Thackeray and Shinde have called meetings on Saturday to chalk out future strategies. Thackeray has called a National Executive meeting on Saturday.
