Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Nagpure, on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review and finalize security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY).
The meeting, held in the conference hall of the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag, was attended by the SP Headquarters Anantnag, ASP North (Camp Aishmuqam), and other senior police officers and concerned officials.
Detailed deliberations were held on security, traffic management, crowd control, and coordination with line departments to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the Yatra, a police statement said.
SSP Anantnag emphasized the importance of maintaining robust security measures and seamless coordination among all stakeholders. He directed officers to remain vigilant, ensure proper deployment of personnel, and strengthen communication systems to address any contingencies effectively.
Special focus was laid on facilitating pilgrims, ensuring their safety, and providing all necessary assistance throughout the Yatra period. Officers were instructed to conduct regular inspections, identify vulnerable points, and take proactive measures to mitigate any potential risks.
The meeting concluded with a comprehensive review of preparedness and a reiteration of commitment by all officers to ensure the peaceful and successful Yatra.
The Amarnath Yatra will commence simultaneously from the twin routes of Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district on July 3.The cave shrine, located deep in the Himalayas, is accessible via the traditional Pahalgam route and the Baltal route via Sonamarg.
