In an effort to bring the police and public closer and to address the concerns of the people directly, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Gurinderpal Singh (IPS), on Saturday held a public interaction meeting in Uri town.
The meeting saw active participation from residents of different villages along with representatives of Beopar Mandal Uri, Sumo and Bus Association Uri, and several other local community members. Citizens used the platform to highlight their grievances and shared suggestions for improving public welfare and policing in the region.
SSP patiently heard the concerns raised, ranging from day-to-day civic issues to policing matters, and assured the gathering that every genuine issue would be taken up for redressal at the earliest. He stressed that the police alone cannot bring lasting peace and that strong community cooperation is essential.
The SSP also spoke about the collective responsibility in combating drug abuse, curbing the misuse of social media, and working against elements that disturb peace. He underlined the importance of transparent and people-friendly policing, assuring that J&K Police remains committed to ensuring safety and security for all.
The meeting ended with a mutual resolve to strengthen police-public cooperation, with the SSP reaffirming that the police will always stand by the people in building a peaceful and progressive society.(KINS) Shoaib Pathan
