Theft case solved in Baramulla, accused held: Police

 Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla have solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime.

A police spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that on 25-06-2023, Police Station Bijhama received a written application from one person Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Khazir Mohd Dar resident of Salamabad Dachina stating therein that some unknown thieves has stolen three goats from Salamabad Dachna jungle.

Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bijhama and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, officers investigating the case led by SHO PS Bijhama zeroed in on many suspects for questioning. After strenuous efforts, one suspect namely Parvaiz Ahmad Mughal son of Mohd Shafi Mughal resident of Salamabad confessed his involvement in commission of crime. On his disclosure, all the stolen property was recovered. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody, police said.

After completion of all legal formalities, the stolen property was handed over to the legal owner, police said.

Community members have lauded the efforts of police for cracking and solving the case. “Our consistent actions shall assure community members that Police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities,” police said
