At least three people were killed and 14 others injured on Friday after a passenger bus overturned due to dense fog in Sukkur district of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, the rescue service reported.

The rescue service said that the accident occurred early in the morning near Pano Aqil City when the bus turned turtle because of a pit on the road, resulting in casualties.

According to the rescue agency, the driver was irresponsible and failed to see the pit because of the fog, which resulted in the disaster.

Following the incident, the victims were shifted to a local hospital, the rescue service said.

Four of the injured, who were in critical condition, along with a few other severely injured passengers, had been shifted to another hospital for further treatment, it added.

The ill-fated bus was reportedly going from the southern port city of Karachi to the eastern Punjab province.
