Tight security arrangements are in place in Jammu ahead of union Home Minister Amit Shah’s three day long visit starting on Thursday evening.

Officials said that on Friday, Shah will inspect the area of responsibility of Border Outpost Gurnam and will also visit Border Outpost Bobiya in Hiranagar belt of Kathua district.

They said that the Shah will also e-inaugurate and lay e-foundation of six welfare schemes for border security personnel.

Later, they said that the union Minister will hold security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir here at Lok Bhavan, adding, “he will also hold compassionate appointment and meeting with families of martyrs.”

On Saturday (February 7), they said that Shah will conduct a meeting on development of Jammu and Kashmir at Lok Bhavan, Jammu.

However, special check points are raised in the Jammu City while vehicles are being frisked in view of tight security arrangements.

Moreover, security has also been augmented along the international border ahead of the visit.

This will be Shah’s second high-level review of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in less than a month.

Earlier, he chaired a high-level security review meeting in New Delhi on January 8.

It was followed by union Home Secretary Govind Mohan’s visit to the union Territory.
