A driver and his helper were killed after their truck plunged into a deep gorge following an accident in the Ramsoo area of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to police, the truck, loaded with limestone enroute from Jammu to Srinagar, met with an accident near Gangroo in the Ramsoo area after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
The truck subsequently plunged into a gorge and caught fire.
A police team, along with CRPF personnel and local residents, immediately launched a rescue operation and recovered the bodies of the driver and his helper from the vehicle’s cabin.
The bodies were found partially charred. Police said efforts are underway to ascertain the identities of the deceased.
A case has been registered, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
