Baramulla:The timely action of SHO Sheeri, Sajad Ahmad along with his team, BSF, and the Sarpanch of Gantamulla Payeen of district Baramulla, Fayaz Ahmad Pandith saved the young boy today from drowning.
The boy namely Sahil Ahmad Sheikh from Ijara, Boniyar of district Baramulla was taking a bath in Jhelum river near the Poshwan colony, Gantamulla. Due to the hike in the water level, the young Sahil got trapped and started drowning.
Meanwhile, the Sheeri police reached the spot in a jiffy, and immediately the barrage gate at Gantamulla was closed to reduce the high flow of water.
Sahil while fighting for his life in the river, The Sarpanch, Fayaz Ahmad Pandith risked his life and jumped in the river to save the boy from drowning.
Talking to The Legitimate, Fayaz Ahmad Pandith Said, “When I heard about the incident, I rushed the spot in no time, and with the timely action of SHO Sheeri, BSF and locals, we saved the young life. since there was a high flow of water, I along with a BSF Jawan jumped into the river and got the boy out of the river sound and safe”
“It was a joint action of Police, BSF, and locals who made the rescue possible. I am highly thankful to the authorities especially our police and security who always come to the rescue of people at such unfortunate times” He added.
