TMC delegation calls on Guv demanding arrest of Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari

A high-powered Trinamool Congress delegation, led by West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu, on Tuesday called on State Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar at his Raj Bhavan office and demanded immediate arrest of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari for his alleged involvement in the Sarada chit fund scam, official sources said.

Besides demanding the arrest of Nandigram MLA, also Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, the eight-member delegation also sought a high level probe against the BJP leader

for allegedly taking money from Sudipta Sen before the jailed Sarada group head was arrested, party sources said.

The delegation comprised among others Minister Shashi Panja, MLA Tapas Bose, party spokesman Kunal Ghosh, Arjun Singh (MP), Firoza Bibi (MLA).

They also handed over a memorandum and a copy of the letter written by Sen mentioning about the money transfer to Adhikari.

Recently the state ruling party heightened its demand for the arrest of Adhikari and took to the streets and even on Monday it held a meeting at the CGO Complex for early action against the BJP leader.
