Tourism Traces and is Reviving the Mughal Trails, Trekks

Srinagar: Department of Tourism JK is launching an innovative unique project called as Mughal trails and Trekks which will include exploring the routes used by erstwhile Mughals for travelling and stays in their era.

Primarily keeping in view the vision of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syed the department has constituted a team of officials to inspect the available facilities at the said spots which fall on these historical routes so that these facilities can be upgraded for the relevant tourism activity specifically adventure and heritage related activities .

The secretary tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah while giving details has identified Daara in Harwan Srinagar and Sanaasar  Peerbling Himachal for Para gliding and other adventure tourism activities similarly Akhnoor in Jammu has been identified to explore it for maharaja trails which maharajas of Jammu used to frequent as a relaxing and for their adventures.

Shah said that it is an effort to promote the state of Jammu Kashmir for its glory and heritage which attracted the Mughal empires and their world famous emperors and kings. Similarly the era of maharajas has a historical importance and the places and palaces which they have stayed in and have used for their adventures and leisure can be promoted to attract a specific segment of tourists and visitors which will benefit the state as a whole and tourism trade particularly.

Faarooq Ahmad Shah said that it is the dream of Honble CM to explore the unexplored tourism potential of the state to make it one of the best tourism destinations of the world. (KNS)
